The Kingsley Exhibit
in the Crocker Art Museum - Sacramento California just happens to be the longest running yearly juried art exhibit in the West as well as the most prestigous.
1990 marks the 65th year of this annual event and features 38 California Artists selected from among over 800 of the Best California has to offer. William Spencer III
of Woodland California was chosen as one of those finalist and is one of only two who will also serve as a docent and be featured in Channel Six Arts Alive. Gloria Burt
editor of On the Wings will be on hand to interview this recently chosen Northern California Rising Star at the Gala event opening replete with ice sculptures and people
dressed to the nines from all over California's capitol city.
Entrants to the show were accepted or rejected through a two phase jury process in which the Final phase was juried by a former curator of the Whitney Museum of Modern Art.
Spencer's work was titled "Talkies in your Home" and was recently chosen for the 1990 'rising star' award by Sacramento Area galleries and will also be featured in the
June issue of Sacramento Magazine. His work entitled: 'Faltering Images' is currently on display at the Accurate Art Gallery in Sacramento. The Crocker-Kingsley exhibit
opens at the Crocker Art Museum last week and continues through June 7th.
