This is the naturally dead decaying remains of a palm trunk at Angel springs grove. J. Cornett of Palm Springs has stated that the absence of "dead" palms in the area was one reason which led him to believe the groves were of recent origin. He failed however to note that Old-Timers such as Harold Doty of Overton, testify that the Warm Springs areas have routinely removed dead palms for over 65 years. He also failed to photograph the dead palms which have pretty much always been piled up over a hill at Warm Springs at least since 1979 to my own knowledge.
